Shooting a video cannot get easier in these day and age with new digital camera and smart phone camera offer far better recording ability. Still, you would like to polish a video with effects, screen transitions or filters and make it more impressive to others. These can all be achieved through the power of a video editing program. Step 1. Import video file
Click on "Import" > "Import Media File" or "Import from Camera or Phone" to add video to the program. Select and drag the video you want to edit to the Timeline.
Step 2. Add effects to video
There are multiple effects available: Music, Filters, Overlays, Elements, Transitions, etc. Let's go through them one by one.
Click on "Music" button above timeline and a series of music categories will be displayed in the playlist such as Young & Bright, Tender & Sentimental, Rock & Hipster Folk, etc. Preview and select the one you want to add into your video by dragging it into Timeline.
Go to "Filters", you will see all filter effects appear in the playlist in specific categories: Faux Film, Night Life, Lomography, Black & White, etc. Likewise, you need to select one effect and click on the "+" button to add it into the Timeline.
To make your video look fancier, you can add overlays into the video by clicking on the "Overlay" button. You have plenty of choices because there're over 97 overlays effect available. Click on each one of the categories to take a preview, and then select the one you like best to add into the Timeline.
If you are merging several videos together, adding transitions between them prevents cutting from one scene to another suddenly. To link one video scene to the next, you can click on "Transitions" and then select from the templates given in the playlist. There are three categories: Basic, Fancy and Favorite. Take a preview of all the transition effects and select one to add into the Timeline.
Step 3. Export video to computer
Click on "Export" and a pop-up window will appear. You can rename the file, and then select the output format and output destination folder. Finally, go to "Export" to save the video on PC.
