In the last two articles we introduced how to split and merge videos with Smartpixel video editor software. In order to make our video clips more versatile and more attractive to viewers on the video sharing sites, we often need some video effects to enrich the video content. Many video editing software has video effects library for user to edit their video. What if we need more personalize video effects? In this article we will introduce how to add video effects into video clip with Smartpixel video editor.

Let's take the game video highlights for example, I'd like to split and merge the most exciting 5 moments into one video, once we split and merge the game videos we could add some video effects into the video to make it more funny.

Now we can add video effects to each seperated episode according to our requirements. We can click the effect tab at the upper left corner or check effect button upon the timeline, there we can see different effects like text, pop-up, filter, scene, border, lighting, pendant etc. User could also import JPG, PNG and GIF image effects according to their needs.

Then we can click to play the game video clip on the timeline and select the right place to insert video effects, for example, we need to insert text effect, we can double click the text effect at the right side, then click the text sample to modify its size, font, vein, 3D display effect etc.

After that click done to preview the video effect. Then we can follow the same steps to add other effects into the video. If you want to add effects that can not be found in Smartpixel library, you can click image tab at the bottom of the effect tab. Currently it only support user to import JPG, GIF and PNG images, in the future we will allow user to upload effects in other formats.
